Telemachiavelli

Monday: I took Unit 4 offline today to see what internal modifications it had made to itself. To my surprise Unit 4 scuttled away as I approached it, although it couldn't possibly suspect my intentions. When I finally did manage to corner it there was a scuffle and I was scratched by one of Unit 4's manipulation mandibles. Whether this was intentional or not on the part of Unit 4 I was unable to determine as I pulled the connector cable to its portable generator and carried it to the work bench.

Tuesday: My investigation into Unit 4 deepened today when I discovered that using its own existing parts Unit 4 has managed to upgrade most of its internal workings; increasing data storage, motor functions, processing ability and overall performance. The majority of the improvements are unconventional hacks and mechanical upgrades bordering on insane genius.

The core has yet to be cracked open and investigated as Units 3 and 7 today somehow managed to topple themselves and I spent some time observing them after I had righted them. None of the units have toppled over since the first week of the experiment so I am at a loss to explain why they would do so now when they have such a superior grasp on balance and all their gyros should be pitch perfect.

Wednesday: A worrying discovery today; inside Unit 4's core was a wireless short range transmitter which I had most definitely not put there. Unit 4 has been transmitting large amounts of data and telemetry right up to the point where I actually cracked the core. I do not yet understand who or what could have put the transmitter there or to whom the data was being transmitted but I have initiated a trace on the signal.

Thursday: My signal trace has narrowed down the receivers to be within the building. As I waited for the trace to complete I spent some time with the other Units, watching them congregate and collaborate. They appear to be gathering pieces of scrap and taking apart an old computer case I left in their enclosure, it was very enjoyable to watch them, my greatest creations.

Friday: Watched the security camera feeds three times before I could actually accept what had happened. Units 5 and 7 tore Unit 2 into pieces, stripping every usable component from the chasis. Their Asimov routines should have come into effect and somehow didn't. Unit 2's self preservation drive also seems to have failed. A worrying development indeed as hostile tendancies have never before been displayed by any of the Units. My investigation is on hold while I check through their code.

Saturday: Still checking code.

Sunday: I'm trapped in my laboratory. Units 1 and 3 are using some sort of pulse cannon they created from the power supply of Unit 2 and the remains of the PC case. They've already given me some pretty nasty burns from some near misses so I have no doubt the damn thing is lethal if they can just aim it properly. Investigation into the signal shows that Unit 4 was transmitting his own autopsy to all the other Units right up to the last moment. I've smashed Units 5 and 6 into pieces with a chair, but so far no sign of Unit 7, he could be anywh
